Wi-Fi Assurance

Your network doesn't fail at go-live. It fails six months later, quietly.

Most WiFi problems don't announce themselves. They show up as a scanner that takes three tries, a forklift that drops off mid-aisle, a shift that runs slow for reasons no one can name. WiFi Assurance catches degradation before it reaches your help desk.

The Hidden Cost

A dropped scan is never just a dropped scan

In a warehouse, WiFi isn’t a convenience. It’s the rails everything runs on. When it degrades, the cost isn’t a support ticket. It’s throughput, labour hours, and orders that miss the van.

1

Degradation is invisible

Access points report themselves as healthy while devices on the floor struggle. The dashboard is green; the shift is not.

2

Problems find you late

Without monitoring, the first signal is a complaint, after productivity has already been lost and the trail has gone cold.

3

Break/fix is reactive by design

An engineer arriving after the outage can only guess at conditions that have since changed. You pay for the visit and the downtime.

How It Works

Install, then assure, as a managed service

We design and deploy the network, then combine on-site sensors with agents on your devices to measure WiFi exactly as your team experiences it. You get a partner who stays in the account, not an installer who walks away at go-live.

1

Deploy sensors and agents

7Signal Sensors placed on-site, plus 7Signal Agents on the scanners and devices your team actually uses.

2

Monitor continuously

Client-side performance sampled around the clock, not just when someone reports a fault.

3

Catch degradation early

Trends and thresholds surface problems before they reach the help desk or the floor.

4

Resolve and report

We act on the data and report on network health as part of a retained assurance service.

Why outside-in

The vendor dashboard says the AP is fine. It can't see that the device isn't.

Access-point dashboards measure the network from the infrastructure’s point of view. WiFi Assurance measures it from the client’s: the same vantage point as the device in a worker’s hand.

Vendor-dashboard monitoring

  • Reports on the access point's own health
  • Blind to client-side experience on the floor
  • Green status while devices quietly struggle
  • Reactive: surfaces issues after they bite

Outside-in WiFi Assurance

  • Measures WiFi as devices actually experience it
  • Sharper client-side data from the aisle, not the rack
  • Flags degradation while status still reads healthy
  • Proactive: problems caught before the call

For the enterprise office

Prove whether WiFi caused the call issue

The same client-side data works in carpeted office space, where the mission-critical app isn’t a scanner but a video call. When a call drops, assurance settles the question fast: was it the WiFi, or something else?

1

Teams call quality, correlated

7Signal lines up Microsoft Teams call metrics, packet loss and jitter, against real WiFi telemetry for the exact duration of the call. A bad call traces to the air, or gets ruled out, in seconds rather than a week of finger-pointing.

2

End the standoff

When a senior exec drops off a single call and a ticket gets cut, the network team and the collaboration team stop guessing. Shared evidence shows whether the cause was roaming, coverage, congestion, interference or connectivity.

3

Every device, every desk

Agents run on Windows, macOS, Android and Linux, measuring the experience from the device in the meeting room, not the access point on the ceiling.

Who it's for

Built first for sites where WiFi outages stop work

Continuous monitoring earns its place wherever connectivity is mission-critical. That’s warehousing and logistics first, where a dropped connection has an immediate operational cost, and increasingly the enterprise office, where video calls and cloud apps are now business-critical.

WiFi Assurance, answered

How is this different from the monitoring built into our access points?

Vendor dashboards report on the infrastructure's own health, from the access point outward. WiFi Assurance measures performance from the client side, the same vantage point as the device in a worker's hand, so it sees problems the AP dashboard reports as healthy.

Do we need to have Wi-Net Connect install the network first?

No. Assurance works on networks we designed and on existing networks from other providers. Either way, we start with an assessment of how your WiFi performs where your devices actually operate.

What's the difference between the sensors and the agents?

7Signal Sensors are on-site hardware units that behave as a high-performing client and measure the wireless environment from a fixed point. 7Signal Agents are software installed directly on your devices, including handheld scanners, capturing WiFi performance from exactly where your team works. Used together they give a complete client-side picture.

Is this a one-off or an ongoing service?

It's a retained managed service. Sensors and agents stay in place and we monitor continuously, report on network health, and act on degradation before it reaches your team.

Can it tell us whether a bad Teams call was really the WiFi?

Yes. 7Signal correlates Microsoft Teams call quality, including packet loss and jitter, against WiFi telemetry for the exact duration of the call. That gives your IT and network team a defensible answer in seconds on whether the cause was wireless, and if so which of five root causes (roaming, coverage, congestion, interference or connectivity), rather than a standoff between teams. Support for other platforms including Webex is available, with Zoom on the way.

What sort of sites benefit most?

Anywhere WiFi is mission-critical. That's warehouses with scanners and forklifts, logistics and 3PL, and manufacturing floors first, and increasingly the enterprise office, where video calls and cloud apps depend on reliable wireless.
